Can you afford the rent?
HEL does not operate hard and fast policies in determining your ability to pay the proposed rent. We look at each case on its overall merits using the following guidelines: -
- Earnings/income should be about the monthly rent x 30. So, if the monthly rent is £650 then your (joint) income will have to be about £650 x 30 = £19,500
- Income may be from various sources but each source will need to be verifiable by printed proof
- Even if you do not meet the 30x criteria you may be acceptable with a guarantor. Please see the guarantors section
- If you do not have any income or your income is insufficient you may be acceptable if you have sufficient savings. Proof of savings will be required.
